Milly is the talent and drive behind Grayson Glass. She has been an artist all of her life. For the last ten years she has dedicated her talents to Stained glass and fused glass.
The Stained Glass art of Milly Grayson reflects the rich background she brings to her art. She has degrees in Anthropology and Native American studies. In her extensive travels she has studied the art of manyy cultures - among them is the Mayan culture in the Yucatan, Belize and Guatemala. As recently as 2002 she visited Morocco where she studied Islamic art. Woven into the mixture is an interest in natural medicine. All of this background has combined to make her art peices rich and unique.
How did she get into stained glass? She had always loved it, and when her daughter bought her a grinder for Christmas, she enrolled in a class taught by Paradise Glass Artist Pam Funk.
Milly says, her imediate recation was , "This is what I want to do when I grow up!" Her designs reflect her love of nature as well as her interest in Native American culture. A recurring theme in her work is Kokopelli. In fact, seems to be a good luck charm for her, Perhaps a totem would be more accurate designation.
